Present Day Baseball: Present Day Baseball is not as interesting to some people out as it once was because of this steroid controversy, but people like you are what keeps the greatest sport alive. Really baseball hasn't changed much since 1947 except not as much racism. Rules are still the same, there is no particular height required. No colored bat may be used unless approved by rules committee. |
The History of Baseball: Baseball has a rich, rich history starting with Abner Doubleday, the creator of baseball. He, Alexander Cartwright, and D.L Adams formed a league which eventually become the MLB in 1846. The only shame to the game was segregation up till 1947, which was the year Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in the Majors. |
Some Basic Rules of the Game: The game requires 9 people. No foreign substances may touch the baseball. You have 4 bases. They are called first, second, third, and home. You must have a player cover each base as well have a player half way between second and third, which is called a shortstop. Then you have the player at the mound in the middle of the four bases throwing a ball, that is a pitcher. Last but not least you have the three players in the outfield that cover the left, center, and right part of the outfield. |
